PARLIAMENTARY PINK

Today was better. I got up, got dressed and went to the Hampton Library with Ray. He taught a Parliamentary Procedures class this morning at our Peninsula Unit Parliamentary Workshop(http://parliamentarians.org/). I ran the computer and the PowerPoint slideshow. At least, I could sit there with my leg up and change files when needed. It turned out very well, there were over 30 people attending. I might even have learned a thing or two.

Dot and Bob Tolbert, friends from Lions Club, were there they are also members of the unit. Dot has had a lot of health issues over the past year and has been on my prayer list often. We had lunch there with Subway (http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/index.aspx ) turkey subs and Chips. Coffee was brought from Krispi Kreme along with some scrumptious donuts of all kinds. We even brought a sub home for Ray for dinner since I wasn't cooking. Ray went to KFC last night and got him a 3-piece chicken dinner and a potato bowl for me and I ate the other half tonight. That is the longest I have been out of the house in a while. I am really tired and can hardly keep my eyes open. All this sitting around is driving me nuts.

Dot said that I won something at the GFWC (http://www.gfwc.org/) Woman's Club Art Show yesterday. I didn't feel well enough to go. I guess I will call Peggy and pick up my art on Monday or whenever it is convenient for her.

"To Know Christ and Make Him Known"
The picture is one that I did in Paint on the computer. The title is actually in the picture. It is the motto for First Baptist Church. I enjoy working on the computer too.
Time for bed. I haven't even checked my email yet. I dozed all evening.
TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/ February 21, 2009
VERSE: Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! -- Isaiah 30:18 http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Isaiah+30:18
THOUGHT: God is slow to exercise His justice when that justice demands His people's punishment. "Gracious and slow to anger" is a phrase repeatedly used to describe God in the Old Testament. God longs to be gracious and bless His people. He extends time for us to repent and turn to him. In Jesus, God even gives us His own Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Let's hear the heart of God and respond by turning our lives and our hearts to the God who longs for us.
PRAYER: Almighty God and Abba Father, how can I ever thank you for yourlove and mercy demonstrated in the sacrifice of your Son for mysin. Please forgive me for those times that I have notintentionally and wholeheartedly shown my appreciation for yourgrace in the way I live my life. Please perfect me by your Spiritjust as you have forgiven me and cleansed me by your grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Good night Friends! Barbara
