CRAZY WEEK PINK!

It has been a while since I have updated. I am owning up to the fact that I have become a Tweet on Twitter. I really like it. Short sentences that change constantly, just up my alley and works with my OCD. LOL!

Beverly and I have basically finished the Music Website. We will be helping the the updates all along but it looks great. I started a Hispanic site and a Young Singles site yesterday. I can't do anything else until I get the confirmation from the web team at For Ministry.

I finished my radiation on Friday. I am so thankful to be done. I have never felt so tired in my whole life. I saw the oncologist on Tuesday and I won't start chemo for a month. It will give my poor body a chance to recoup before the onslaught of chemicals. I did have a blood test on Thursday morning for a genetic test to see if I carry a gene that causes breast cancer. If it comes back positive, there are more options, but I won't get in to that until I reach that point.

I tried getting some weeds out of the flower bed today, 5-10 minutes at a time. It flat wore me out but I feel like I need the exercise. Somehow, I know it will make me feel better.

Good news, Ray Wilson is home from his surgery at UVA. He is able to eat soup. Juanita sent out an update this morning. They are both in my prayers, please let them be in yours too.

I started another blog on Environmental Cleaning. That is cleaning with environmental cleaning solutions, i.e., vinegar, baking soda, alchohol, etc. http://environmentalhome.blogspot.com/
Check it out. You can join and make comments if you know good tips. (I would love it).

The picture of the baby is from one of the cutest emails I have every received. Read the T-Shirt.

LOST WEEK PINK

I hope you are all having a wonderful new week. Mine has started off a little strange, the radiation machine didn't work this morning, so that means that the radiation will last one more day. I saw Dr. Lazer and I am doing fine now. I saw him on Friday and he gave me a prescription for an antiobiotic for a UTI. It was so nice of him to do that. They don't usually give you help with any other problems. I was really miserable. My doctor doesn't take walk-ins and I could have spent all day in the emergency room. I told him this morning that he is my hero!

Beverly was here this morning. We had planned to work on the ministry website, but it just wasn't working well enough to do anything. First, our ISP had a problem, then theirs. I think it is because the kids are out of school today and then there is the people doing last minute taxes.

Ray went to church yesterday, but I still wasn't feeling well enough. I did get up and get cleaned up so we could go to Kevin and Paula's in the afternoon. There were 14 friends and family there and everybody brought a dish. What a spread! I couldn't eat much but brought home a little plate of turkey, succotash and corn pudding. We took ham and there was dressing, gravy, deviled eggs, hot rolls, pineapple cheese cassarole, green bean cassarole, corn, potato salad, cheesecake, carrot cake, bunny cake, strawberry cake, and our granddaughter Emily made brownie cupcakes with peanut butter centers. Ray had a field day! Bless his heart, I haven't been much on cooking lately.

I really missed going to church yesterday. I watched Joel Osteen, Dr. David Jeremiah, and Dr. Charles Stanley, so I did get the message. I had a few head rushes, I don't know what is causing that, but I was afraid to move around too much with Ray gone. I finally got to feeling better so I could get a shower before he got home.

Taylor called me yesterday morning and said "Nana, do you know what day it is? EASTER! and the Easter bunny came and brought me chocolate bunnies and clothes and some toys to play with outside." She was so excited. Rhonda said that Garrett was really upset because we didn't come. I really hated not to be there, but I just don't think I could have made the 4 hour car trip.
Here is my daily inspiration from Sunday.

TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT http://www.heartlight.org/

VERSE: And my God will meet all your needs according to his gloriousriches in Christ Jesus. -- Philippians 4:19

THOUGHT: Throughout Scripture, God reminds us that if our trust is in himand if we share his blessings with others, he will make sure wehave all that we need. How can we be sure? Look at the confidenceJesus had in God!

PRAYER: Dear Father, please forgive me for trying to find my securityand hope in things other than you. I know that there is no othersource of hope, freedom, and security than you. Help me tear downevery idol that I may have erected that dilutes or distorts mytrust in you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

HE IS RISEN!!!!

WEBSITE PINK

Beverly came this morning and we worked on the website again. It is really shaping up. It would be so much easier if we really knew what we are doing. We get things all ready to insert and then come back later and all we have is the little red X. It has become the bane of my existance.

There are two women that finished radiation on Wednesday. I missed them this morning. Both had had chemotherapy first. One of the ladies told me a little about the chemo. Two days after her first infusion, all her hair fell out. She was giving me some advice not to cut my hair because it is much easier to find long strands than it is to fine short ones. The short hairs get in your shirt like when you get your hair cut sometimes. She said her daughter had cut her hair to about one inch and when it fell out, it was a real mess. She told me about some of the uncomfortable things about chemo. But, I have to remember that not everyone goes through the same experience.

We are having Maundy Thursday tonight at church. I wanted to go to the Breast Cancer support group, but I guess I need to go to church with Ray.

We heard from Juanita Wilson. Ray had surgery and he is doing well. He is at UVA. They removed part of his esophogas that was precancerous. We will certainly keep him in our prayers.

SHEILA PINK

(This is from my dear friend Sheila. We started with the Government almost 30 years ago, within a couple of weeks of each other. She is a wonderful Spirit-filled Christian that warms my heart with love and prayers.)

Prescribed by the Great Physician

The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was a drunk Abraham was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob was a liar Leah was ugly

Joseph was abused
Moses had a stuttering problem
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair and was a womanizer

Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David had an affair and was a murderer
Elijah was suicidal

Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran from God
Naomi was a widow
Job went bankrupt

Peter denied Christ
The Disciples fell asleep while praying
Martha worried about everything
Mary Magdalene was...

The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once
Zaccheus was too small
Paul was too religious
Timothy had an ulcer..

AND Lazarus was dead!
Now! No more excuses!

God can use you to your full potential. Besides you aren't the message, you are just the messenger.

And one more thing.....

In the Circle of God's love, God's waiting to use your full potential.

1. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
2. Dear God, I have a problem, it's Me.
3. Growing old is inevitable . growing UP is optional.
4. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
5. Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted.
6. Do the math .. count your blessings.
7. Faith is the ability to not panic.
8. Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.
9. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
10. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday.
11. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
12. The most important things in your house are the people.
13 When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
15 He who dies with the most toys is still dead.

Have a great day!!! The SON is shining and He can certainly use you!

MONDAY MORNING PINK

Good Monday Morning,

I didn't have much time for writing this weekend. Friday afternoon I received a phone call from the Nurse Practioner (Cliff) at Dr. Schlesinger's office. He said the bone scan that Dr. Omstodt had done came back negative for bone cancer. That is wonderful, but I only thought it was a bone scan for osteoporosis. LOL! Praise God for small miracles.

Late Friday afternoon, we went to the Stoneybrooke Clubhouse and helped Earl to price some items and straighten out some things. There was so much stuff. We stayed until around seven and then just went home. So tired. We had left-over spaghetti cassarole. Saturday was a good day. I would say that we made close to $1K on the yard sale. This means we can buy some glasses this month. We have so many needy people on our list.

Sunday was wonderful. Tag Kilgore preached an awesome sermon and I found people to be in charge of the ushers until the end of the year.

I passed the halfway point today for my radiation. 15 down, 13 to go. I am seeing my PA in the morning about my hip problem.

Twitter is fun after you figure it out. It seems to be something new every day.

We are going to NC for Easter, I am so excited to be getting away for a couple of days and see family.

Garrett and Taylor in their uniforms for T-ball last year. They are playing again this year. You would never think they are twins.

XRAY PINK

This is a busy day-got up, showered, got ready to go get my treatment-they called to say the machine was broken again. So, we waited until 8 am and went to X-ray at Riverside Hospital and had a nuclear injection. I had some kind of "head rush" and had to wait a while to go back upstairs and Ray had to come down to get me. I got up there and they called me for hip xrays. When I got up from that, I was dizzy, but it got better quicker than the other. Ray and I came home and I have been watching Rachel Ray. She is so up and positive. I just love her program. We have to be back at the hospital at 11:30 a.m. for the bone scan.
Kitty and I went to church last night. We went around through City Center and drove down Canon Boulevard so she could see the cherry trees. They are so beautiful. I filled in for Betty in the library last night. After dinner we went to our bible study class. We had Susan Moore speaking to us on polity in the church. She is a teacher at the John Leland Center for Theological Studies and she really knows the subject thoroughly. It was a very good class. Afterward, we prayed for some people in our congregation who are ill. We learned a lot about our ordnances of baptism and Lord's Supper.

Someone sent the following to me in an email. Thought you might be interested.
Noah's Ark
Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark.
ONE: Don't miss the boat.
TWO: Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE: Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR: Stay fit.. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN: For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE: When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.
Most people walk in and out of your life......but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

Life Is Too Short, Break The Rules, Forgive Quickly, Kiss Slowly, Love Truly, Laugh Uncontrollably, And Never Regret Anything That Made You Smile.
Life May Not Be The Party We Hoped For, But While We're Here, We Should Dance...

Verse of the Day
"It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God -- that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption."
