SUMMER PINK

I am beginning to think that school will never get out. I don't think that I have been this anxious since I was in high school. The reason I am so anxious is that Rebecca will be out of school and she will be taking care of her mother. I had a bad day last Thursday. She attacked me at the quilting party. She wanted to leave and she took her purse and walked out. She usually comes back in, but she didn't and I ended up looking all over the church for her. Actually, she did not go far because someone else made her sit down in the dining room. I took her back to the sewing room and she fought me and left bruises all over my arms. I got her settled down and called my husband to come pick her up.

I knew that I would not be able to drive with her in the car. I called my friend, Irene, who was waiting for them when they got home. Benita stayed with Irene for a couple of hours while Ray was out working and was fine by the time I got there. Her daughter seemed to want to blame it on me somehow. I told her that I did nothing but try to protect her mother. Then she said she thought it must have been a blood-sugar drop that caused it. Well, I told her how Benita ate her chicken salad and potato salad with crackers and then proceeded to eat mine because she was still hungry. So I was the person who should have low blood sugar, because I had not eaten since breakfast.

Alzheimer's is a terrible disease. I would not wish it on anyone. It is like being around someone you are afraid will explode any minute. My therapist says I should be awfully careful this next week. Also, hide all the sharp objects. I hate that it has happened to Benita. She was always so kind and sweet. Every time I saw her, she was dressed very well, beautiful hair, nails, and make-up. A very stylish lady who volunteered her time to community service. Alzheimer's knows no class, race, political philosophy. The one thing that she still knows and that is "Jesus." She has known Him since she was a little girl and will know Him when she sees Him in Heaven. I just wish she didn't have to go through this terrible ordeal.

Thank God that Ray is here most of the time and he watches her when I have to go out for a doctor's appointment. I couldn't watch her at all without Ray and Irene. Ray only goes out when she is in the bedroom taking a nap. I think he is anxious too....

The picture is me and Snow Ball. I really call him Bubby. Don't ask why. It just rolls off my tongue easy. He is a real sweetie. He is 4 years old and has been spayed. His breed is Maltese/Poodle (Maltipoo). He is just so lovey. Don't ever tell me prayer doesn't work. This little dog was something I have been praying for this past 6 months. Having him here seems so natural and right. Ray really loves him too. He minds pretty well, but don't drop some paper in the floor because it becomes his. He will fetch a ball or chew toy, sit, roll-over, and lay down. I hope you all are having a lovely day.

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!!
