Not Everyone Needs Shingles

Shingles

When I see the word "Shingles," I usually think of the roof of a house. In fact, we could use a new roof. In fact if you could send my name into the house makeover people, you might just save me from being on "Hoarders." LOL!

In my last post I mentioned that I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Yesterday, I was diagnosed with Shingles (the kind burns and stings).

I called and immediately went to the doctor. They were able to fit me in because the sooner you take the medication for Shingles, the quicker you get better. That is really the bonus of having a doctor that you go to all the time, it is easier to get right in to see the doctor.

Today, there is pain, a burning sensation, and a prickly feeling. It is near my waist in the front. I had it before about 20 years ago and they said I wouldn't get it again. Believe me, if you live long enough you can get anything again.

First Day of Spring

I cannot believe it, the sun is out and it is in the 60s. Then I heard we may have snow flurries next week. Not on my watch! I am claiming Spring! I don't know about you, but I am so tired of being cold.

SPECIAL PROJECT:

I want to make a Social Media Girlfriends Quilt and would like to include

pieces of fabric from the #smgirlfriends to make it really special.

Think that is a good idea?

  • I will be doing all the work, supplying the batting and back fabric.

  • I also would like the small pieces of fabric (1 fat qter) to be pink.

  • Any color pink, any pattern that is mostly pink.

  • Dark pink, pink, pale pink, hot pink, little pink roses, etc.

  • This is going to be a very special project.

It is for someone very special to us all. I am thinking about doing it in the pattern below, which is a 9-patch.

I would need the fabric by the end of April. If you would like to help,  let me know so I can send my address.

Mitzee PINK

The groundhog saw his shadow and that is supposed to mean that Spring is on it's way. That is a wonderful idea to me.

My little puppy, Mitzi came to live with us the first week in January. She is a ShitzuPoo and is incredibly cute. Even though she kept me awake a lot last night, she occasionally uses the puppy paper, and loves to bite on my hands, she (Mitzee) has captured our hearts. She is not quite 5 months old.

We also have a Maltepoo, Snowball. We got him last June. He is about 5 years old and a little set in his ways. Mitzee chases him around while he growls. It has taken a month, but he is becoming tolerant of her.

This morning she actually did both of her businesses on the paper. I am so proud. She didn't wake me up once last night.

Ray is so good with them both. He is as patient with them as he is with me. He never has a bad word for anyone.
